When I read Rainbow Rowell’s Fangirl, I fell in love with the fiction within the fiction. I was interested in Simon Snow’s world more than I cared for what happened to Cath and Levi. I wanted to get the full-course meal that is Simon and Baz rather than mere taste tests.

Orbiting Jupiter by Gary D. Schmidt [Review]


“If there were angels, then bad things wouldn’t happen.”

“Maybe angels aren’t always meant to stop bad things.”

“So what good are they?”

“To be with us when bad things happen.”

Joseph looked at him.

“Then where the hell were they?” he said.

I don’t know how to say anything about this book without doing it injustice. But I’m going to try anyway.
